JUST A SONG
And now in a live hookup from the Cheyenne Room of the Plymouth Hotel, Miss Virginia Madison, a lady with a tale to tell of mean streets that used to be paved with gold, or were they?

LUCAS HORTON, a private investigator is visited by a client Wendell Paynter, who is looking for his wife with only a faded picture from an amusement park to go by.

LUCAS arrives back at his office to find another client, MARION LANSING, who is being blackmailed over some indecent pictures. She asks him to go to the club Mattei with the money for ‘VICTOR TESLA who owns the club. Meanwhile LUCAS gets a call from WENDELL who says his wife has contacted him and wants to see him his hotel room.

LUCAS arrives at the hotel to find WENDELL dead on the floor

DON’T MAKE WAVES
LUCAS finds himself at the police station reporting the murder to MAX FEENEY, his old partner who has since made lieutenant. This stirs up some old history between the two of them about police corruption and their former boss LEO MADISON, VIRGINIA’S father who had an untimely end.

VIRGINIA sings Sue and Sam, a novelty song that acts as a counterpoint to a tense scene at the Club Mattei. LUCAS finds VICTOR TESLA to give him the money in exchange for the photos but since they also have a history when LUCAS was a policeman who put VICTOR in jail years ago LUCAS ends up being beaten by VICTOR’S thugs and left in an alley as VIRGINIA’S song concludes.MARION finds him and rings him to her apartment.

The second Act brings us more action and more songs.
